Medication Safety & Prescribing Policy

YouthfulMD follows strict medical and legal standards to ensure safe and appropriate prescribing for every patient.

Our Safety-First Medical Philosophy

Prescribing medication is a serious responsibility. YouthfulMD providers prescribe only when treatment is medically appropriate, supported by clinical findings, and safe based on the patient’s health history and lab results.

Treatment is never guaranteed and must meet strict clinical criteria.

How We Determine Whether a Medication Is Appropriate

YouthfulMD uses multiple steps to determine whether a patient qualifies for medication-based treatment:

  • Medical Intake Review Providers review symptoms, past treatments, conditions, medications, allergies, and overall medical history.

  • Telehealth Evaluation Patients meet with a licensed provider for a clinical review and discussion of goals, risks, and expectations.

  • Required Lab Testing Many medications require lab work before prescribing. Labs ensure safety and help personalize dosing.

  • Clinical Eligibility Determination Providers evaluate medical necessity, contraindications, drug interactions, and patient-specific risk factors.

  • Shared Decision-Making Providers explain their findings and treatment options. Patients and providers decide together if therapy is appropriate.

Medications Are Never Guaranteed

YouthfulMD does not guarantee that any patient will receive a prescription.

Your provider will prescribe treatment only if:

• It is clinically appropriate

• It is safe based on your evaluation and labs

• There are no contraindications or medical risks

• You meet all eligibility criteria

If medication is not appropriate, your provider will discuss alternative options.

Clinical Reasons a Provider May Decline to Prescribe

A provider may decline to prescribe a medication due to:

  • Abnormal or unsafe lab results

  • Kidney, liver, or cardiac issues

  • Medication interactions

  • Uncontrolled medical conditions

  • Contraindications based on FDA guidelines

  • Safety concerns raised during evaluation

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Lack of required lab results

Providers may also require additional labs or follow-up visits before moving forward.

Why Labs Are Required

Many YouthfulMD programs require lab testing before medication can be prescribed.

Labs help providers ensure:

  • Safe dosing

  • No hidden medical issues

  • Accurate diagnosis

  • Monitoring for side effects

  • Personalized adjustments

Recent labs may be accepted if they meet medical criteria and are uploaded clearly.

Ongoing Monitoring Keeps You Safe

Medication-based treatment requires regular follow-ups, communication, and dosage adjustments to ensure effectiveness and safety.

Your provider may require:

  • Scheduled telehealth check-ins

  • Lab re-testing

  • Dose adjustments

  • Lifestyle recommendations

Failure to complete required follow-ups may delay or pause treatment.

Medications Are Filled Through Licensed Pharmacies Only

YouthfulMD partners with licensed, accredited pharmacies to ensure medication quality and safety.

We do not source medications from unverified suppliers, overseas pharmacies, or non-accredited facilities.

All medications are:

  • Verified

  • Pharmacy-grade

  • Shipped directly from the pharmacy

  • Temperature-controlled when required

  • Tracked for delivery and chain-of-custody

Medications Are Filled Through Licensed Pharmacies Only

YouthfulMD does not prescribe controlled substances, including but not limited to:

  • Stimulants

  • Opioids

  • Benzodiazepines

Understanding Medication Risks

All medications have risks and potential side effects. Providers will review common and serious risks during your consultation. Patients must report side effects promptly using their secure patient portal or by contacting support.

Do not ignore or self-manage serious symptoms.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

YouthfulMD does not prescribe GLP-1 medications, hormone therapy, or certain peptides to patients who are:

  • Pregnant

  • Actively trying to conceive

  • Breastfeeding

  • Temperature-controlled when required

  • Tracked for delivery and chain-of-custody

This is for patient safety and fetal protection.

Emergency Policy

YouthfulMD does not treat or manage medical emergencies through telehealth.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

Patient Responsibilities

By using YouthfulMD services, patients agree to:

  • Provide accurate medical history

  • Be honest about medications and conditions

  • Complete required labs

  • Follow provider instructions

  • Attend follow-up visits

  • Report concerning symptoms

  • Use medications only as prescribed

Failure to follow these guidelines may affect treatment eligibility.

Prescription Refills

Refills are provided at the discretion of your provider and require:

  • Ongoing clinical oversight

  • Compliance with your treatment plan

  • Up-to-date labs (when applicable)

  • No medical contraindications

Refills are not automatic and must be medically appropriate.

Medication Safety FAQ

Are medications guaranteed?

No. Providers prescribe only when clinically appropriate and safe.

Can I request a specific medication?

You may discuss preferences, but the provider makes the final clinical decision.

Can I get a higher dose if I want faster results?

No. Dosing must follow medical guidelines and lab-based safety protocols.

Can I upload outside lab results?

Yes, if labs are recent and meet provider requirements.

What if my provider says I’m not a candidate?

They will explain the reason and offer alternative treatment options if appropriate.

YouthfulMD provides telehealth wellness services. All medical decisions, including prescriptions and dosing adjustments, are made exclusively by licensed healthcare providers. YouthfulMD does not guarantee access to any specific medication. Treatment is based solely on clinical judgment, lab results, and safety protocols.
